Huawei announces worldwide availability of Ascend P1 .
Huawei’s Ascend P1 will be available in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Australia through operators and retailers by May 2012, in Latin America from June 2012 and in Europe from this summer, with availability in other markets to follow, the Chinese vendor announced today.
The dual-core processor powered device was unveiled at CES in January and is part of the Ascend portfolio of smartphones which include the quad-core Ascend D and D XL, which feature 1.2GHz and 1.5GHz chips, respectively. Pricing details for the P1 were not announced.
The Ascend P1 has 4.3 inch super amoled, 960 x 540 touchscreen with Corning® Gorilla® Glass. The Ascend P1 is also the fastest and most compact smartphone in its class with a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
