NAB2012: Screaming Velocity Takes TV & VOD Recommendation Technology to the Next Level.
Screaming Velocity, Inc., a Silicon Valley-based software company providing advanced VOD and Linear TV recommendation technology, today unveiled its latest software recommendation technology at the 2012 NAB Show.
The technology combines an advanced social discovery recommendations engine, with deep social graph user interest analysis capabilities, drawing from Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus social networking sites.
Additionally, the recommendation engine combines both collaborative and content-based filtering, advanced probabilistic topic modeling, and user interest analysis, to deliver the most accurate and relevant search results and recommendations. Also employing various unsupervised learning techniques, the Screaming Velocity Recommendation Engine performs advanced clustering techniques on user interest data to capture what users are passionate about.
This state-of-the-art system, created by the machine learning engineering team at Screaming Velocity, deeply learns and understands a user so that it can better recommend high quality TV programs that coincide with their individual tastes. Designed to scale to millions of simultaneous users using a distributed, cloud-enabled architecture, the system provides turn-key deployment in any customer datacenter or can be hosted within the current Screaming Velocity cloud.
Ingestion of linear TV scheduling data for all digital cable and satellite TV providers is performed multiple times daily to ensure that users always have the most up-to-date access to all of the high-quality and personally relevant content.
