Australia: Despite Apple is offering customers refund for the not 4G capable new iPad, the ACCC sues them.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) is seeking court orders to stop Apple from promoting its new iPad as 4G compatible. The watchdog is making an application to the Federal Court in Melbourne for orders against Apple for alleged contraventions of the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

According to the ACCC, Apple's recent promotion of the new "iPad with WiFi + 4G" is misleading because it represents to Australian consumers that the product can, with a Sim card, connect to a 4G mobile data network in Australia, when this is not the case.

The regulator is seeking urgent interlocutory relief to ensure consumers are made aware of the correct technical capabilities of this device. Additionally the ACCC is seeking final orders including injunctions, pecuniary penalties, corrective advertising, and refunds to consumers affected.

The Australian reports that Apple has already offered to refund customers who bought the new iPad expecting it to work on Telstra's LTE network. However, the company denies it misled the public. The company will also place clarifying statements at the point of sale and to send e-mails to customers to make it clear the company does not claim the iPad works on Telstra's 4G network.

China: New iPad going on sale in April. Tim Cook talks  with government officials cleared the way.

According to zdnetasia and allthingsd Tim Cook recent visit to China  helped to clear the way for sales of the new iPad after he talked with the goverment officials to address issues pertaining to the iPad trademark dispute.

As results of this talks, the China Quality Certification Center (CQCC) recently granted the iPad with the compulsory certification necessary for Apple to sell it in China.

Apple has not yet announced a formal launch date for the iPad in China, but the device could debut on shelves as early as April, the report said.

The latest iPad, unveiled by Apple earlier this month, is already available in some Asian markets including Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia. Singapore and Hong Kong were previously not among the first countries to sell the iPad 2 device when it was launched, and analysts observed that the inclusion of more Asian countries is a sign of the region's growing significance to Apple.

The New iPad: Developers rush to upgrade apps.

Apple developers are “working overtime” to update their apps to take advantage of the new features in the latest iPad, reports USA Today. The new device – which has just gone on sale in ten global markets – offers a dramatically improved display, faster processing, improved HD video and LTE connectivity.

"Our designers and animators are working day and night to optimise our apps," Nicholas Callaway of Callaway Digital Arts told the newspaper. He added that the firm has redesigned two of its most popular apps, featuring Martha Stewart and Sesame Street characters, to take advantage of the new iPad’s sharper display.

Epic Games president Mike Capps also talked up the new improved display, describing it as comparable to high-end gaming consoles such as the Microsoft XBox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3. "We can achieve a level of realism and detail that has never been seen on a mobile device, or honestly, on any widely available television," he said.

Epic Games is working on upping the resolution of images from its best-selling game Infinity Blade II with an updated version reportedly due “very soon.”

The new third-generation iPad uses Apple’s A5X processor with what the company calls “quad-core graphics" to support the high-definition Retina display. The A5X provides double the graphics performance of the iPad2’s A5. The display has 3.1 million pixels, four times the number of pixels seen on the iPad2.

The New iPad useless for European 4G LTE networks. ?

The New iPad useless for European 4G LTE networks.
The new iPad WiFi + 4G put up for pre-order in Europe yesterday supports the same 700MHz and 2100MHz LTE bands as the AT&T version in the US; however, actual LTE roll-out in Europe is expected to use the 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands.

According to Slashgear, even though LTE network is almost inexistent in Europe, as soon as the new technology is deployed, it will only support devices that work on 800MHz, 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands.

The New iPad have been confirmed to support 700MHz and 2100MHz LTE bands, which are fully compatible with the US-based carrier’s network. (AT&T)

Both the international and the AT&T models have the same quadband UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA and quadband GSM/EDGE support; the Verizon model uses 700MHz LTE and dualband CDMA/EVDO Rev.A.

In Japan, meanwhile, although the iPad is also branded WiFi + 4G, the version there doesn’t have any LTE support. Instead, it tops out at DC-HSDPA

This basically makes the new iPad useless in Europe when it comes to 4G LTE data speeds. European customers who decide to purchase this model and plan to use it in their region will be limited to DC-HSDPA  data speeds.

The New iPad-Retina Display-TV Ad.

WorlWide Tech & SCience. Francisco De Jesús.

One of the features Apple wants you to get attention is the new Retina display on the new iPad. The TV Ad below take you there. Tim Cook said about it:

"Photos are just going to look amazing on that gorgeous high-resolution display."
It's 2048 x 1536, sure enough. That's 3.1 million pixels. "The most ever in a mobile device."
1 million pixels more than HDTV.
We're looking at 264ppi "and that is enough to call it a retina display."
The iPad, now, is expected to be held at 15 inches.
40 percent better color saturation than before, too.
