Canada: WindMobile will carry a variant of Samsung Galaxy S3.?

Canada: WindMobile will carry a variant of Samsung Galaxy S3.?

WIND is excited about being part of the Canadian launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III this summer. This advanced device aligns perfectly with our initiative of introducing hot new handsets to customers each month and with our truly unlimited plans customers will be able to experience the device to its full capabilities,” said Anthony Lacavera, CEO of WIND Mobile.

The North American variant of Samsung Galaxy S III will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset that pack two cores clocked at 1.5 GHz and supports LTE. (Qualcomm pdf)

The international version of Galaxy S III sports an Exynos 4412 Quad chipset with four cores clocked at 1.4 GHz, but lacks LTE support, which is mandatory for the North American market.

Although Samsung announced plans to release three versions of Galaxy S III, each with a different amount of storage, it’s almost certain that WIND Mobile will get the 16GB model.

A 32GB model will probably be available only in Europe, while a 64GB variant will be launched on the market later this year.

The rest of the phone’s features will probably be common to both North American and international version, including the hyper-vibrant 4.8-inch Super AMOLED (Pentile) capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution.

It is also worth mentioning that the phone’s large display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 2 coating. Obviously, Galaxy S III will be powered by Android 4.0.3 ICS platform out of the box.

WIND Mobile notes that additional details regarding the Galaxy S III’s specs sheet, pricing options and availability will be announced in the coming weeks.

Note:
As WindMobile has not confirmed anything about specifications and related to the Qualcomm chip Snapdragon S4 yet, (it comes in two versions: dual core and quad core) (Qualcomm pdf )
We suggest you to stay tuned to the official specs sheet when it is available.

“Relive the action from UNPACKED 2012 in London. Discover the GALAXY S III, a phone that recognizes your voice, understands your intention and lets you share a moment instantly and easily,” Samsung notes.

To provide those users who missed the event with the opportunity to learn about the main features of the new smartphone, Samsung has published a video highlight of the most important moments of last week’s launch.

Watch it here below and if you missed the full video live event, you can see it as well after the first one:

Samsung own engineers developed Galaxy S III’s face-detection and eye-tracking capabilities. Eyeing qualified software workers&mobile companies.

J.K. Shin, president of Samsung’s mobile business (pictured) called the company’s latest flagship smartphone — the Galaxy S III — an example of Samsung’s renewed focus on software. While the phone is based on Google’s Android operating system, Shin highlighted how Samsung engineers were able to write new software and enable unique features such as the Galaxy S III’s face-detection and eye-tracking capabilities, which control various functions on the handset based on whether or not the user is looking at the display,as well as  one that allows users to watch video clips while emailing on the same screen.

He revealed that the South Korean manufacturer has begun aggressively hiring foreign software engineers in an effort keep pace with Apple’s iPhone. Samsung, which has traditionally developed its own hardware, is also embracing the possibility of making key acquisitions in the mobile space.

“The technology industry is growing very quickly and it is too much of a burden to try to do everything in-house,” Shin said. “There are many qualified workers from India that are very skilled in software. And there are small companies that we can acquire that have good research and development capabilities.”

Samsung Galaxy S III is the new Androids King with Outstanding Benchmark , compared on 3 apps with  competitors.
